Australia has been caught in the grip of a micro-swimwear trend, one we definitely didn’t ask for — but it came for us anyway.

In the past few months, we’ve been left scratching our heads over the “duct tape” bikini, utterly baffled by the tiny buckle bikini and just straight up concerned by the “naked” bikini.

While the internet has collectively roared over the minuscule monstrosities, one mum has decided to tackle the issue at hand directly with a notorious tiny swimwear retailer.

In a lengthy rant on Facebook, Lorna Cronin, tackled a recent “dental floss” swimsuit, after a photo of the seemingly uncomfortable one-piece from fashion e-tailer Boohoo appeared in her Instagram feed recently.

“DEAR BOOHOO SWIMWEAR....,” it began, before beginning a list of five obvious problems with the swimsuit she would have if she were to buy it.

One included asking if there were “pockets” to tuck her exposed vagina into and another was questioning if a popular cream for treating thrush was included in the $13 cost of the cossie.

“Does this flatter the ‘mammy fanny’,” she finished, explaining women’s genitalia after birth are often “fuller” than those who haven’t had a child.

The Irish blogger — who posts under the name Lorzy Lovey — added: “P.s this girl is stunning btw and if I had her body I’d literally be down in Aldi in my dental floss togs.”

Her hilarious, brutally honest response to the daring swimsuit quickly went viral, attracting over 130,000 comments and 35,000 shares since it was posted on June 13.

“Imagine walking around in thongs too!! All you will hear is flip flap flop!!!!,” one joked.

“I prefer my swimsuit to be a bit looser around the labia if it’s all the same. Regards,” another wrote.

“Swimwear at the moment is getting more and more like Borat’s mankini,” someone else mused.

Another joked: “One slip and it’s all over.”

Others simply agreed the black cossie was “ridiculous” and described the fashion piece as an “expensive piece of dental floss”.

The Aussie model, Tahlia Skaines, whose post inspired the epic rant hasn’t responded to the attention she’s received, but her 340,000 followers definitely weren’t complaining about her outfit choice.

“You look amazing, I have no words,” one fan wrote underneath.

“Gosh you look great,” another said.

Tahlia, who is currently based in Bali, appears to be a big fan of skimpy swimmers — as a quick scroll through her Instagram account shows her rocking a number of tiny string bikinis.

Sadly, it is not the first time a tiny swimwear design has left the internet utterly baffled, with the fashion industry continuing to push boundaries.

Last week, a “creepy” hands bikini shocked the internet thanks to its bizarre design that makes it look like the wearer’s boobs are being groped.
