Sydney, Nov 24 (Xinhua) Authorities closed a popular beach in Western Australia on Saturday after swimmers spotted a shark in the safety zone.

It is the latest encounter with the marine predators amid renewed concerns about their attacks on humans.

Police ordered swimmers out of the water at Middleton Beach, Albany, after a shark up to 2 meters long was found within the safety net area, according to local media.

No one could really believe it, that there was a shark inside.
People were in disbelief, paddleboarder Paul Hepworth was quoted by the ABC news channel as saying.
