THEY’VE been together for 11 years, but TV presenting couple Steve and Rose Jacobs have thrown in the towel on their seemingly happy marriage.

“They’ve grown in different directions and want different things in life now,” a friend told The Sunday Telegraph’s Confidential.

The couple grew tired of their busy schedules and the hectic city life in 2017, choosing to relocate to Vanuatu with their daughters, Isabella, 6 and Francesca, 4.

Steve, 51, who left his presenting duties at Channel Nine after a decade, told news.com.au last year, that holidaying on the South Pacific island had saved their marriage and got the girls to come out of their shell.

“Every single holiday seemed to get more and more magical as we saw our two young daughters come alive outside of their Sydney routines.”

Realising each of their work commitments was seeing them both travel for more than 300 days of the year, it was a no-brainer to pack up and move.

“Steven and I reconnected as a married couple, being based in the same city for more than a day,” said Channel Seven weekend presenter Rose.

But the bliss unfortunately doesn’t seem to have lasted, with the short lived ‘reconnection’ coming to an end late last year.

The transition to island life had a couple of hiccups for the couple with 39-year-old Rose contracting Dengue Fever on arrival and the couple’s ambitious plans to release their own line of botanical rum, never quite getting off the ground. The separation has been civil with the couple continuing to live together while the girls are in school.

The source added: “They both love their children and neither of them regrets the move to Vanuatu. So many people give up on their relationships at the first sign of struggle but Steve and Rosie both tried really hard for a long time before reaching this point.”
