THE Giants’ horror run with injuries has continued, with talented midfielder Will Setterfield suffering what appeared a serious injury to his left knee in Friday’s practice game against the Swans.

The No.5 pick (2016 draft) fell awkwardly in the third quarter and had to be helped from the ground.

“It was one of those unfortunate incidents that can sometimes happen in footy, so it doesn’t look great, but we’ll wait for scans tomorrow,” Giants midfield coach Lenny Hayes said.

“I think it took the wind out of our sails a little bit seeing him go off. I reckon we lost our way a little bit after that.”

Setterfield played just two senior matches last year after an ankle injury early in the year.

The-20 year-old from Albury was in line for Round 1 selection against the Western Bulldogs.

Setterfield’s injury follows a season-ending blow to Zac Williams, who ruptured an achilles tendon in pre-season training.

It continues the nightmare for the Giants, who lost 168 games from their best 25 players last year.
