CHANNEL 7 owner Kerry Stokes, his son Ryan and network boss Tim Worner are expected to reveal a new Magic Millions broadcasting deal, set to grow the Gold Coast racing carnival.

Melbourne Cup commentary favourite Francesca Cumani and Seven sports anchor Hamish McLachlan will attend the announcement as celebrity ambassadors for the booming racing, sales and polo event, to be televised again this January on Seven.

Today’s event has drawn a who’s who of the carnival’s power players to an exclusive morning tea at the Gold Coast Turf Club, hosted by Magic Millions co-owners Gerry Harvey and Katie Page-Harvey.

The first racing and sales carnival to offer $10 million in prize money, launched back in 2015, has also become renowned for producing some of the star yearlings now dominating turf action around Australia and the world, including super horse, Winx, Redzel, Capitalist and Buffering.

Gold Coast Tourism officials see the Magic Millions Carnival as the summer start to a stunning year of sport on the Queensland beach mecca, which next year will also host the Commonwealth Games in a It’s Live! events calendar that is forecast to generate more than $780 million fo the state’s economy.
