BUNNINGS sausage sizzles have become a must-do on a Saturday morning and barbecue lovers have found the town with the best Aussie snag.

People have taken to TripAdvisor to let others know where the best sausages are to be found and the reviews are hilarious.

According to snag fans, Warrnambool Bunnings, in rural Victoria, has the most succulent sausages. People love them so much, they’ve set up its own page on TripAdvisor and named it “Bunnings Restaurant”, which is now the 8th top-rated eatery in the whole of Warrnambool.

One review said they were drawn in by the whiff of onion and stayed for the sausage.

“Beautiful smoky flavour with the perfect tang of tomato sauce. Mustard and BBQ sauce available for the more distinguished pallet. Beautifully matched with a sweet taste of Sunkist. Plenty of outdoor seating available in store,” the review said.

Another rated the snags 11 out of 10 and said she wished it was possible to eat a Bunnings sausage for Christmas lunch.

Others said the Bunnings sausages in Warrnambool were “life changing” and a “must do” in the rural town.

A woman said she was smacked in the face with the barbecue aroma and couldn’t resist trying a Warrnambool sausage.

“What culinary excellence! The napkin was bread! Not even the likes of Heston (Blumenthal) has come up with this gastronomic experience. The marriage of white bread, sausage, onions and tomato sauce were by far the best I have ever had,” she wrote.

Another fan of the fine Aussie cuisine said when she saw the reviews about Warrnambool, she drove two hours to the country town from Geelong just to try it.

One man said he went to Bunnings on an impromptu date when he was greeted by the barbecue.

“Sun was shining, the pigeons were keeping a respectful distance from the door and of course the delicious aroma of a charity snag filled the air,” he posted.

“Old love behind the trestle table, with the sweat of hard work on her brow, was an absolute delight to order from and even spent extra time, elbow deep in the Esky looking for a cold Sunkist for the Missus.

“As per usual the food was a solid 10 out of 10 with the perfect crunch to juice ratio on the snag and that delicious authentic chargrilled onion really brought the whole dish together. Can’t wait to go back for more next Saturday.”

People claimed Warrnambool Bunnings had “reinvented the sausage” and it was a “great spot for a wedding anniversary lunch”.

The Warrnambool Bunnings has attracted more than 50 reviews and is the 8th highest rated eatery in the Warrnambool area out of 93 listed restaurants.

Bunnings state operations manager Tony Manzone said “our sausage sizzles are valuable fundraising opportunities for local community groups so it’s great that local Warrnambool residents love and support them”.
