A split level, waterfront house at 9 Jacaranda Drive in Cabarita has sold at auction for $3.035 million.
Sixty people turned up to the auction to witness four active bidders contest for the house. Bidding started at $2.5 million, with two bidders trading smaller bids from the $3 million-mark
and onwards.
The overseas vendor sold the four-bedroom house to downsizers, who loved the convenient location.
There were 80 groups at the inspections, with seven contracts issued. The reserve was set at $2.85 million.
Selling agents Ben Horwood and Alessio Scivetti of LJ Hooker Drummoyne and Concord said that the auction was hotly contested due to the exclusive nature of the waterfront block.
“Rarely does waterfront real estate of this calibre enter the marketplace. It was great to help the vendors achieve their dream result of surpassing $3 million,†Mr Horwood said.
The house has a large alfresco deck, a top-floor main bedroom and open-plan layout.
